Day by day itinerary

Day one Arrival in Siena
Arrive in Siena and check in at your hotel. If you arrive early, explore Siena’s historic center, famous for the “Palio” horse race, Piazza del Campo, and the stunning Duomo. Stroll through the medieval streets of this well-preserved city.
Begin your journey through the scenic Tuscan countryside, passing cultivated meadows that change colors with the seasons. Walk through Monteroni d’Arbia and the medieval village of Cuna before reaching Lucignano d’Arbia.
Trek through the rolling hills of the “Crete Senesi,” marked by its distinctive grey soil. Arrive in Buonconvento, one of Italy’s most beautiful villages, with a short, steep climb to your accommodation at an organic farm.
Follow dirt roads through the Val D’Orcia, offering breathtaking views of the hills, vineyards, and cypress trees. Explore San Quirico’s medieval gate and the Horti Leonini gardens.
Continue across the scenic Val D’Orcia, stopping at Vignoni Alto and the thermal waters of Bagno Vignoni. Reach Castiglione d’Orcia via one of the most picturesque segments of the Via Francigena.
Challenge yourself with a steep ascent to Radicofani, rewarded by panoramic views from the fortress. Visit the Pieve di San Pietro and enjoy an evening stroll in the illuminated old town.
After a short transfer, walk from Radicofani along the old Via Cassia, taking in breathtaking views of the Tuscan hills. After a transfer from Centeno to Ponte Gregoriano, arrive in Acquapendente.
Descend into the volcanic crater towards Lake Bolsena, alternating between dirt tracks, olive groves, and thick woods. Visit Bolsena’s Cappella del Miracolo, known for its 13th-century Eucharistic miracle.
Walk along the eastern crest of Lake Bolsena, reaching Montefiascone, a village offering panoramic views of the lake and the surrounding region. Visit the Fortress of the Popes.

To get to Ivrea, you can fly into Turin Airport (Turin-Caselle Airport), which is about 50 km away. From there, you can take a direct train from Turin to Ivrea, with the journey lasting around an hour. Alternatively, Ivrea is also accessible by train from major Italian cities like Milan and Rome, with regional and high-speed train connections available.
