A walk through time and nature
I’ve walked many trails in my life, but the Via Francigena from the Saint Bernard Pass to Ivrea was truly something special. Starting near the snow-capped Alps and descending through vineyards, every day was filled with breathtaking beauty and quiet moments of reflection. The accommodations were warm and welcoming, and the route notes were incredibly easy to follow. I felt supported but also free to explore at my own pace. Thank you for a trip I’ll never forget!
Worth Every Step
I was a bit hesitant at first about doing a self-guided tour, but My Via Francigena made it seamless. The logistics were flawless—our luggage was always waiting for us, and the maps and GPS instructions were spot on. I really loved the transition from alpine landscapes to the rolling hills and charming Italian villages. Great food, great people, and a strong sense of history underfoot. This wasn’t just a hike—it was an amazing experience.
A Perfect Blend of Culture, Nature, and Challenge
The walking was just the right level of challenge—enough to feel accomplished, but never overwhelming. I traveled solo and never felt alone, thanks to the excellent planning and the kindness of the locals. Highly recommended!
The Trip That Rekindled Our Love for Walking
We’ve done walking trips in the UK and Spain, but this one stood out for its diversity. Starting in the Alps was exhilarating—mountain air, and not a soul around. As we descended, we found ourselves enjoying local wines in quaint villages and exploring medieval towns we’d never even heard of. Everything was well-organized, from the accommodation to the daily walks. We laughed, got lost (just once!), and fell in love with Italy all over again.
A Pilgrimage of the Heart
This journey touched me in ways I didn’t expect. Though I’m not religious, I found the ancient pilgrim route to be a deeply spiritual experience. Walking through landscapes that have seen centuries of history gave me time to reflect and reconnect—with nature, and myself. I loved the peaceful rhythm of the days, the delicious food in the evenings, and the warm hospitality at every stop. Thank you for making this dream possible. I feel renewed.
Walking Through History
What a treat to walk the Via Francigena! The route is steeped in history, and the transition from the Swiss Alps into Italy was nothing short of cinematic. I’m a bit of a history buff, so visiting old Roman roads, cathedrals, and medieval towns was a thrill.
Solo, Safe, and Spectacular
As a solo female traveler in her 60s, I can’t say enough about how empowering this trip was. I felt completely safe and completely supported. The walking was invigorating, the views were jaw-dropping, and the villages felt like scenes from a storybook. I came back stronger, happier, and already planning my next adventure. Bravo, My Via Francigena!

Walking the first stage of the Via Francigena on my own this summer was honestly one of the best adventures of my life!
