Walking in Northern Italy
This section of the Via Francigena was a dream. From the charming villages to the rolling countryside, every day felt like stepping into a Renaissance painting. I especially loved the stop in Berceto—it felt untouched by time.
Off the beaten path
As someone who enjoys walking but doesn’t want crowds, this was the ideal trip. The route from Fidenza to Pontremoli took us through quiet hamlets and serene landscapes. We rarely saw other tourists, which made it feel even more special. I’d happily do it again.
A Beautiful Adventure
We’ve done several walking holidays, and this was one of the most rewarding. Not too difficult, but with just enough challenge to make that post-walk wine taste even better. The views over the Apennines were breathtaking, and the small inns we stayed at had so much character. Highly recommend for couples looking to slow down and spend quality time.
Spiritual experience
There’s something powerful about tracing the steps of medieval pilgrims while surrounded by such stunning Italian scenery. Don’t skip the cathedral in Fidenza… it’s a gem!
Slow Travel at Its Finest
This tour reminded me why I love walking holidays—time to think, space to breathe, and scenery that soothes the soul.
Surreal travel experience
Crossing the Apennines and looking out across the terrain ahead was a surreal feeling. I can’t wait to plan my next walk along the Via Francigena.
